THIS PRODUCT WORKS GRAET FOR THE HOME WIRELESS NEEDS OF ME WORTH WHAT I PAID
Thank you. It was easy to install and my internet connection is stronger than it was before.
I found it here: [.].Just pick your chipset (RT2500 for the F5D7000 v3000 card,) download the software package, and you'll be in business in no time.Kudos to Ralink for their excellent software and customer support.Belkin take note- GET IT TOGETHER- IT'S SOFTWARE, NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. It also transfers data much faster than the Belkin program, on the rare occasions the Belkin software was working. My advice if you get a Belkin card & have problems is to load the Belkin driver, forget the lousy Belkin program and download the Ralink network software. I disabled the Belkin program (used MSCONFIG in Win XP,) installed the Ralink software, rebooted, and the program found the network, logged on with no input from me, and has been connected problem-free since.
Windows was unable to see the wireless network (Verizon MIFI 2200) so I tried the Belkin software. I started researching the web for ideas and came across the review on this website where someone recommended downloading the driver & software package from the chipset manufacturer, Ralink. Installed my Belkin F5D7000 v3000 card per the instructions and loaded the latest driver/software package from Belkin's website.
I did and am 100% satisfied. TRY ACTUALLY TESTING YOUR PRODUCT BEFORE SELLING IT. After a few hours of fiddling with settings I finally got it to see the network, but immediately began experiencing frequent dropped connections like many others have complained of, even though my access point is 2 feet from the card's antenna.
Sometimes it would reestablish the connection after a reboot (THAT'S real convenient- NOT) & sometimes it wouldn't.
Will be updating to Windows 7 soon and I'm expecting no trouble. Simple, clean, and works with Vista. Install was a breeze on a HP desktop. Installed the latest Belkin software, powered down and opened the case, installed the device, and powered up again.
So I stopped using it and all is well. The card works great, easy to install. The wireless connection manager that Belkin provides did not work very well and my connection kept dropping.
